Amano Shrimp (Caridina Japonica)
The Amano shrimp is a fascinating species of freshwater shrimp that is very common in the aquarium trade. It is native to Taiwan and Japan and can grow up to 2 inches in length. It goes by many names, including Japanese shrimp, Japanese swamp shrimp, Japanese algae eaters, Japonica shrimp, algae shrimp, and Yamato shrimp.
This shrimp’s scientific names are Caridina multidentata and Caridina japonica. By far the Amano is one of the most popular species of shrimp for aquarium hobbyists, second only to the Cherry shrimp.

Feeding Amano Shrimp, feed only once per day and do not them more than they can eat in two hours. You can feed your shrimp with fish flakes, pellet, blanched vegtables like carrots, spinach, zucchini and algae wafers.
We ship livestock on the following days only Mon, Tues, Wed and Thursday on a next service before 1pm. We will contract you within 24 hours of date of purchase to arrange delivery date. If you want a preferred delivery date please contact us before hand. Shipping is £28 for as many fish as you like up to 20kg. UK mainland and some parts of Scotland are available for delivery.
